Revealed: Terrifying ‘life is too short’ social media posts of French daredevil Remi Lucidi who fell to his death climbing a 220-meter skyscraper in Hong Kong – while videos show his daring escapades on tall buildings around the world

The French daredevil who fell to his death while climbing a 220-meter skyscraper in Hong Kong eerily wrote “life is too short” in his social media posts in the days leading up to the fatal stunt, it has been revealed.

Remi Lucidi would rant against criticism of his hair-raising escapades that involved standing on top of tall structures that were over 950 feet high — whether they were skyscrapers or more obscure structures like cranes, bridges, or pylons.

Videos show how Lucidi, 30, was no stranger to risking his life climbing these dazzlingly tall buildings – but his latest escapade to the top of a 220-meter skyscraper proved fatal.

Lucidi, known on social media as “Remi Enigma,” had reached the 68th floor of Tregunter Tower, a residential block in Hong Kong’s posh Mid-Levels area, when he plummeted to his death.

The young adventurer had been seen by a maid who knocked on the penthouse windows to re-enter the building, but fell to his death on Thursday before help could arrive.

Lucida often shared dozens of videos and photos of him smiling as he stood perilously close to the edge of tall buildings — while eerily writing that “life is too short” and “your comfort zone will kill you” in the social media posts.

In another video, Lucidi can be on top of a dangerously tall crane, while cars below look like tiny dots in a situation where one’s legs would shake with fear. In the unnerving footage, Lucidi decides to test the limits even further and reaches out to a nearby pole and begins doing pull-ups while casually looking down at the steep slope below

Shocking footage shows the Frenchman standing on the edge of a crane attached to the top of a high-rise building under construction, wearing no safety gear. In the video, titled “I’m a crane with no safeties,” he waves at the camera as he swivels his field of vision.

In the unnerving footage, Lucidi decides to test the limits even further and reaches for a nearby pole and starts doing pull-ups while casually looking down at the steep slope below.

Further footage, not for the faint hearted, shows Lucidi walking across the top of a bridge as vehicles speed below it. A small mistake would have been fatal for the Frenchman.

In more unnerving footage, Lucidi can be seen climbing to the top of a 300-meter chimney at the Provence Power Station in Gardanne – the tallest chimney in France.

The video shows the Frenchman climbing the top of the chimney and walking around the rounded top before sitting down and dangling his feet with the steep slope below.

The daredevil also posted footage of himself clinging to the back of moving streetcars or standing on top of trains, ducking just in time before a bridge almost knocked him off the vehicle.

His posts of himself dangling from tall buildings often drew criticism – but Lucidi always wrote that “life is too short” and ignored their concerns.

A caption, posted next to a photo of Lucidi in time of a Hong Kong skyscraper in 2019, read: “I’m crazy, that’s what people call me and that’s how I’m different.”

And alongside a photo of him dangling his foot from the edge of a tall building in Kiev, Ukraine, Lucidi wrote, “Avoid negative people in your life, especially if they say you can’t do something. Find people who will support you.’

On the night of his death last Thursday, Frenchman Lucidi had arrived at the tower at 7:30 p.m. and told a security guard that he was visiting a friend on the 40th floor.

The resident he named has since denied knowing the thrill seeker and was simply a ruse for Lucidi to evade security.

Surveillance camera footage then shows Lucidi exiting the elevator on the 49th floor before taking the stairs to the top at level 68.

The door to the roof was locked, but Lucidi forced it open, determined to take another photo of the roof.

Many of the photos posted to his Instagram show him clinging to the spiers of tall buildings and he may have tried to do the same when he fell and crashed to the ground.

Police found his sports camera, which contained videos of the extreme sports he practiced, police said South China Morning Mail.

Recent reports saw him posing on top of tall scaffolding and buildings in countries around the world, including Dubai, Bulgaria and France.

Six days before his death, Lucidi, who described himself as a Hong Kong-based photographer, posted a photo from Times Square in Causeway Bay, Hong Kong to his Instagram page that is now full of tributes.

‘Tear brother. Sad news that no one ever wants to hear about a fellow explorer,” one wrote.

“There is a lot at stake in the search for great experiences. Eternal respect, rest in peace,” added another.

“You never leave us, you are unique,” said a third.

Lucidi stayed in a hostel in Tsim Sha Tsui. The owner of the hostel described him as ‘friendly and humble’.

“He was healthy and fit and had a happy face,” Gurjit Kaur told SCMP. ‘I feel very sad.

“He told me he was going to climb a mountain when I asked where he was going. He said he wanted to walk a lot while he was here,’ he said.

The police found his passport and other belongings in the hostel.

The French Consulate has been notified of Lucidi’s death as the police investigation into the incident continues.
