Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have rallied behind Jason Kelce after he smashed a fan’s phone to the ground for insulting his brother’s relationship with the singer.
The fan used a homophobic slur when he recorded himself shouting, “Hey Kelce! How does it feel that your brother is in love with dating Taylor Swift?” Older brother Kelce was at Penn State for a college football game on Saturday and appeared on ESPN’s “College GameDay.”
Kelce, who turns 37 on Tuesday, grabbed the phone from the fan, slammed it on the ground and said, “Who the hell is there now?” Then he picked up the phone again and walked away with an open beer in his other hand. Footage of the incident immediately went viral on social media.
A source close to the couple told DailyMail.com: ‘Taylor and Travis were both very shocked by this as Jason is one of the nicest guys in the world.
“It really became clear how much he loves and respects Taylor. Travis means everything to him.
Jason Kelce angrily slammed a fan’s phone on the ground after they called Travis a ‘f****t’
Kelce then walked away with the man’s phone before asking him, “Who the hell is there now?”
“Using the word f****t is not okay for him or anyone else. This fan has crossed the line. Jason will never stand up for anyone who insults his family and he now considers Taylor family.”
Jason Kelce has not yet commented on his own use of the word “f****t” in retaliation against the fan.
However, the athlete has received support on social media. Quinton Lucas, the mayor of Kansas City, wrote on X: “I shouldn’t say it, but whatever. I appreciate Jason Kelce standing up for his family.”
Jason’s next public appearance is scheduled for Monday night, when he heads to Kansas City to call on Travis in NFL action for the Chiefs against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for ESPN.
According to to PageSixcampus police said no incident report had been filed by anyone.
The two brothers have a very close bond, with their bond — as well as Kelce’s romance with Swift — being a key factor in recently landing a $100 million deal to produce their New Heights podcast.
Jason retired from football earlier this year after 13 years in the NFL with the Philadelphia Eagles, where he won the Super Bowl title.
Travis was at the press conference where Jason made the announcement and both brothers cried as the Eagles hero brought down the curtain on his career.

Swift’s relationship with the Chiefs star has led to an explosion of interest in the Kelce family around the world, but they have embraced their newfound fame, and Swift herself, in the public eye at every opportunity.
Jason has also been to a number of Swift’s Eras Tour shows – both with Travis and his own young family – since her relationship with Travis went public in September 2023.
“She’s amazing, a down-to-earth and genuine person, which is great to see when someone of that caliber and stardom continues to be as grounded as she is,” Jason said in February.
Speaking in September, Jason admitted that he is cautious every time he is asked about his brother’s relationship with Swift due to how much interest there is in the two of them.
“Even now, I want to have respect for them,” he said on The Pivot Podcast. “I don’t want anyone to feel like I’m violating some private relationship, right?”
‘But he is my brother and I am very happy for him. You just have to be aware of how you say things because he’s under such a microscope.”
DailyMail.com has contacted representatives for both Kelce brothers for comment.
