Taylor Swift and Brittany Mahomes reportedly decided to sit apart for this week’s Chiefs vs. Ravens game because they wanted to experience the NFL season opener in a different way.
The singer and Mahomes, the wife of Chiefs quarterback Patrick, sat together several times during games last season and spent time together in Amsterdam earlier this year while Swift was on tour.
But in recent weeks, Mahomes has openly expressed her support for Donald Trump in the upcoming presidential election, a stance that apparently runs counter to Swift’s.
It made their Chiefs vs. Ravens standoff on Thursday night at Arrowhead Stadium all the more striking, but according to The Sun There is no hostility between them.
“They are very good friends and were really looking forward to going to the game, but they had other plans at times,” a source said.

“But Brittany preferred to play the first game of the season in a suite with family and kids, in a more ‘low key’ atmosphere. Taylor wanted more of a ‘party and drink atmosphere’ before the game and enjoy it differently.
“There is absolutely no tension between them, they love and respect each other very much. They just wanted a different atmosphere for the first game of the season at home.”
Mahomes shared a selfie with her daughter Sterling on the court before the game, while Swift was filmed in the stands during the game with Kelce’s friends and his parents, Ed and Donna.
Swift and Kelce have since flown to New York for the weekend and were photographed at a pizzeria in Brooklyn on Friday evening.
The Chiefs are off until Tuesday, with their next NFL game back at Arrowhead Stadium next Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals. The attention in the stands that day will inevitably turn to where the duo is seated.
A few days before Mahomes went public with her support for Trump, she and Patrick went to Rhode Island to stay at Swift’s mansion, along with Kelce and some mutual friends.
