It may seem like Man City have dominated their rivalry with Liverpool since Jurgen Klopp became manager, but the picture changes when you look at net spend.

City have won five of the last six Premier League titles and were just one point behind Liverpool in two of them.

While that may seem one-sided in Pep Guardiola’s favor, things are much more even when the money spent on each team is taken into account.

Sky Sports has analyzed this and found that while Man City have won 15 major trophies in that time, compared to Liverpool’s seven, the Sky Blues have spent almost double that amount.

Sky Sports shared this data on the net spend of the ‘big six’ compared to major trophies

The Reds have spent £346 million, while City have spent £630 million in the same period.

Meanwhile, Chelsea and Man United have spent £1 billion to win six and four respectively.

Arsenal have spent £702m on just two trophies in that time.
