REVEALED: Mariah Carey, 54, and Bryan Tanaka, 40, SPLIT after seven years together due to his want to have a family: ‘That’s not where she is at’

According to a new report, Mariah Carey and Bryan Tanaka have ended their seven-year romance because he wanted to start a family.

Just hours after it was reported that they had split, the alleged reasoning behind the decision was revealed by an insider Page six.

According to their sources, their 14-year age difference played a role between Mariah, 54, and Bryan, 40, because they wanted different things.

The insider explained, “He wants to start a family. That's not where she is.'

Speculation about the split started when the Fantasy hitmaker kicked off her Merry Christmas One and All! tour in November, but the dancer was absent from her shows, sparking speculation that they have split.

The superstar is also currently celebrating the holidays in Aspen without Tanaka, who usually accompanied her on the trips in the past, according to a source who spoke to People.

It is the first time in years that the couple – who started dating in 2016 – have not traveled together over the Christmas period.

The couple was last seen together in March, celebrating Mariah's birthday. At the time, Bryan posted a photo of him and the superstar on Instagram with a gushing caption.

'This is one of my favorite photos. Ever. Happy birthday, my beautiful queen. 3/27.'

In November, fans began speculating about the couple's split following her concert at the Yaamava' Resort & Casino in Highland, California.

Bryan regularly showed off his dance moves during her shows more than a decade ago, but audience members shared on social media that they noticed he was nowhere to be seen.

Others thought Mariah looked gloomy, with some complaining about her alleged low-energy performance.

Adding to concerns about a possible rift was Bryan's total absence from the hitmaker's Instagram profile since December 2022.

Mariah's last Instagram post with Bryan appears to be from December 26, when the two beaming lovebirds posed cheek-to-cheek to celebrate Boxing Day.

So far, neither Mariah nor Bryan have publicly commented on the split rumors.

Carey and Tanka first met in the mid-2000s and he accompanied her as a backup dancer on her Adventures of Mimi tour, which took place in 2006.

“There used to be something connected between us and just a mutual admiration,” he said E! News in 2016. 'She saw something in me that I didn't recognize at first, from that moment on it was over. It was a given in history that we would be connected in some way.”

In 2016, Mariah ended her engagement to James Packer, and soon after, she and Bryan started a new relationship.

The two seemed to confirm they were dating when they were spotted showing PDA on the beach over Thanksgiving weekend that year.

Although they briefly split in 2017, they were back together later that year and have shown a loving, albeit low-key, relationship ever since.

Before becoming involved with Tanaka, the artist was also famously married to her first husband, music director Tommy Mottola, 72, from 1993 to 1998.

Carey began a short-lived relationship with singer Luis Miguel, which ended in 2001.

She later met Cannon, 41, while working on a music video, and the two married in 2008 before welcoming their twins in 2011.

The former couple eventually separated and finalized their divorce in 2016.

On Sunday night, Mariah had a festive ending to her Merry Christmas One and All! Tour.

The New York native wrapped up her 16-concert tour to a sold-out Madison Square Garden, performing numerous holiday classics including All I Want for Christmas Is You, Santa Claus is Comin' to Town and Oh Santa!.

Earlier in December, Mariah revealed that she was looking forward to this Christmas season because the last one “wasn't the best.”

'I've been looking forward to this Christmas all year. Since last year – because last year wasn't the best,” she said in an interview with People.

“I'm grateful for them all, but it wasn't my best version of Christmas ever.”

“Come come hell or high water, this year, this Christmas, we're going to have fun,” she added.
