Jurgen Klopp’s immense new salary at Red Bull has been revealed after the former Liverpool manager agreed to become the energy drinks giant’s ‘Global Head of Soccer’.
The 57-year-old left his post at Anfield in May after a successful nine-year spell in charge, having guided the Reds to victories in the Champions League and Premier League.
He was enjoying his time off and stated that he did not want to take on a coaching role and needed some rest after making his decision at the start of this year.
However, it was confirmed on Wednesday that the German had agreed a deal with Red Bull from January 1, making him responsible for the international network of all football clubs under the brand’s umbrella – including Leipzig, Salzburg and New York Red Bulls.
With Klopp in a top role at one of the world’s biggest brands, speculation is mounting over how much he will bring in and Sky Sports Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg has now shed light on his contract.

The former Borussia Dortmund boss will earn between £8.3 million and £10 million annually from the Austrian drinks company.
Remarkably, it still marks a pay cut from his Liverpool days, with the German reportedly earning £15 million a year by the end of his spell in charge.
The eye-watering wages aren’t the only benefit of Klopp’s hefty new deal.
In the wake of his shock move, it was reported that the iconic manager had not included a break clause in his contract for a potential move to become national team boss.
But it is now believed that Klopp has struck a verbal agreement that will allow him to leave Red Bull if an offer comes in that he likes. However, it seems that only the German hotseat would be tempting enough for him to abandon the energy drink brand.
The ex-Liverpool manager is tied to Red Bull for five years, making a bold move to replace Julian Nagelsmann, who is in charge of Die Mannschaft, less likely.
It is no secret that the organization is enthusiastic about the popular manager, with director Rudi Voller previously revealing: ‘If Julian Nagelsmann were to decide at some point that he would rather coach a top club again, there is of course no way around it. Jurgen Klopp. If that’s what he wants.’
In his new position, the German will have to advise the clubs on coaching matters, playing philosophy, development and transfers of players and head coaches.
Speaking about his new role, Klopp said on Red Bull’s website: ‘After almost 25 years on the sidelines, I couldn’t be more excited to get involved in a project like this.
