Respawn Entertainment’s next game is reportedly in prototype stages and will be set in… Fall of the Titans universe.
During the final episode of Game Mess morningsGiant Bomb reporter Jeff Grubb spoke about Respawn’s well-known projects after the news that parent company Electronic Arts had canceled its activities Star Wars first-person shooter alongside job losses.
Although we know that Respawn is currently developing a new original title, with development led by Fall of the Titans And Titfanfall 2 director Steve Fukada, there’s not much to do right now. However, according to Grubb, the game is in the early stages of prototyping, and while it is said to be separate from the Fall of the Titans series, the upcoming game will reportedly take place in the same shared universe (via VGC).
‘There are always conversations about it Titanfall 3. Every time I look at it they don’t make it Titanfall 3they just aren’t,” Grubb said.
“They do have another team working on a Skunkworks project that was very early (prototyping),” he continued. “There (are) different phases of prototyping, there is a very early, very small team prototyping phase, and now they are moving into a broader (development form) like this is now a real project, but still in the prototyping phase, and that is with that game happens, and it belongs to the director of the original Fall of the Titans.
“This game, as it stands, is, as I understand it, a ‘Fall of the Titans game’, it’s in the Fall of the Titans universe. But everyone I talk to keeps saying, it’s not, don’t even think about it Titanfall 3, such as a game with online multiplayer and a single-player campaign. I’m like, well wait, what, what is it like, what is this game? I still do not know.”
Grubb goes on to say that Respawn was working initially Titanfall Legends before it was canceled last year. The reporter claims that this game would link directly to the studio’s popular Battle Royale Apex Legends by not just showing Fall of the Titans‘s BT companion, but also Top‘s characters.
The concept was to have “the legends appear and give you special powers during the game so they can link it together” Apex Legends in a very strong way.”
“The idea there was that more people played Apex Legends than you’ve ever heard of Fall of the Titansso they really started focusing on that,” Grubb added.
