Residents of sleepy Florida community at war with drug-addled ‘gangsters’ running local meth house

Residents of a small Florida community are in an uproar over a suspected drug house that they say is out of control for police.

Angry Silver Springs residents contacted local media News 6 because I have problems at home all day long.

Beth Campbell told the outlet: “We see people driving in and out of our neighborhood all day and night, in their vehicles.

“We see them cycling back and forth. We see them walking through our streets, tripping and falling on the street because they’re so high on something.”

Campbell is not the only one who is concerned about the goings-on in the house. The newspaper also talks to other residents.

Carol Lane told the newspaper that she put bars on her windows out of fear.

She added: ‘It’s just mind-boggling, trying to go to sleep and then someone’s banging on your house. You worry – is someone in trouble? Can I help?’

Timothy Santrock said drugs are not the only crime and that theft has increased in the region.

He said: ‘I’ve had tow bars stolen from my vehicle. I’ve had a generator stolen from under my house.

“If it’s not nailed down, they’ll steal it. Nothing is safe in this neighborhood.”

Campbell said she was afraid to even let her grandchildren outside in her yard because of the crowds.

She said, ” Our children and grandchildren come here often and we are afraid to have them in our gardens.’

The outlet reached out to local sheriff Billy Woods for comment, but he declined to be interviewed.

His spokesperson confirmed that he is aware of the issues in the area and that concerns are being addressed.

That same day, the medium reported that a search had been carried out at the address.

Detectives found cocaine, methamphetamine, marijuana and used needles at the address.

Three people have been arrested, including David Biaza, who is accused of producing and selling crack cocaine from his home.

Two other men, Donald Burns and Lance Shackelford, were also arrested on drug charges.

According to locals, things have become quieter now because there are more police patrols.

Campbell said: ‘We hope it stays that way, but I think everyone can say we’re glad Channel 6 helped us out.’
