Waltz called for an “immediate damage assessment” from the intelligence community regarding the documents found in Biden’s possession.
Biden was found to have concealed material from his decades-long career in the Senate and from his eight years as vice president.
Some documents, relating to the national intelligence community, were made available to members of the House Intelligence Committee and select senators for review.
Republicans are still fighting to gain access to the classified White House documents and memos found in Biden’s possession for review, a House source said.

Following an investigation, special counsel Robert Hur announced in March that Biden “intentionally retained and disclosed classified materials” found in his basement, garage and offices.
Hur wrote that Biden considered himself a “historical figure” and kept the classified materials to “document his legacy and cite as evidence that he was a man of presidential credentials.”
The documents were recovered by FBI agents in December 2022 and January 2023.
Hur concluded in his report that the evidence against Biden was not compelling enough to prosecute the president, suggesting a jury would view Biden “as a likable, well-meaning, older man with a poor memory.”
