Rep. David Trone, who is currently running for Senate in Maryland, reportedly threatened to “terminate” a delivery boy in a fit of rage at his wine and spirits store, a newly unearthed police report shows.

Trone, D-Md., who made his fortune as a co-founder and co-owner of the private wine and spirits chain Total Wine and More, was at one of his store locations in Tempe, Arizona in December 2021 when Crescent Crown Distributing merchandiser Cody Huard and his colleague Hunter Olsen provided products.

Trone, a sitting member of Congress, threatened to “kill the fuck out” and “execute” Huard during a heated altercation that began when Trone became upset and merchandise was piled on the floor.

Huard called police because he felt “threatened by the incident,” but Trone left before police arrived, according to a police report, first reported by The spectator.

Cody said the store owner, David Trone, started yelling and cursing at him because he was angry that there was merchandise on the floor. Cody said David threatened him, saying, “I’ll fucking kill you,” “I’ll execute you,” “you’re not on my payroll, I’ll kill you now,” the police report reads.

Witnesses interviewed by police confirmed that Trone was “very rude to Cody and Hunter” and threatened to fire them, but did not threaten their physical safety.

District manager Steven Gordon said the store had a policy of not stacking merchandise on the floor and that Trone was angry that the merchandise was blocking the aisles for customers.

He is a major Democratic donor to other campaigns and has donated tens of millions to philanthropic efforts, including $15 million to the ACLU.

Trone is sure to face a crowded primary in the race to replace Democratic Senator Ben Cardin, who has already served three terms.

The liquor magnate spent $16 million in 2016 in a failed bid to win a House seat in suburban Washington, D.C., losing to Rep. Jamie Raskin.

He then spent another $17 million in 2018 to run for a neighboring House seat and won.
