Renee Rapp reveals she is unaware of ‘fire crotch’ controversy in Mean Girls film as she was ‘fairly drunk’ at the premiere: ‘I was violently hungover the next day’

Renee Rapp has revealed she was unaware of the Mean Girls ‘fire crotch’ controversy because she was ‘fairly drunk’ at the film’s premiere.

Megan Thee Stallion referenced “fire crotch,” an insult once hurled at Lohan years ago during her cameo in the Mean Girls reboot, and the reference upset Lohan.

In an extensive interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Rapp admitted, “I feel like I’m the only person in the world who hasn’t seen this and doesn’t know what we’re talking about. And I think it’s because I was pretty drunk at the premiere and that was the only time I ever saw the movie. Because I don’t like looking at things that I’m in because it scares me.

“It was me and Megan (Thee Stallion), sitting next to each other, and I was like, ‘I’m so anxious.’ I immediately went into the theater, took off my dress, put on a more comfortable one and sat in the back.

‘I was like, “We need two bottles of champagne.” The next day I had a huge hangover. I must have had a great time. I remember looking at myself and thinking, “My eyeliner looks great.” And that’s all I remember.’

Rapp played Regina George in the new musical reboot, years after Lohan starred in the original. Lohan also made a brief, surprise cameo in the new film.

However, she was disappointed that the joke made it into the reboot: “Lindsay was very hurt and disappointed by the reference in the film,” her rep previously said. The messenger.

In the new movie, Megan Thee Stallion shows up to praise the new popular girl Cady (played by Lindsay in the original movie).

The rapper says in a TikTok-like clip: “Fire crotch is back.”

Renee also talked about her 2023 hit Snow Angel, a song about a terrifying drug experience she endured several years ago.

Rapp previously revealed she was drugged during a night out with friends in 2022.

“I really let go of my judgment when it came to the people around me,” she explained on Jay Shetty’s podcast last year. “We were all out, and it was situation after situation where they just weren’t reliable, and the next thing you knew I was face up, laying in a bathroom stall in a hotel bar, just woke up (at) 5 hours. in the morning, all alone.’

“I woke up and I was so confused, and I had blood on my pants, and I was actually so taken aback,” she said.

‘I had my phone and my bag. And I looked down and I was all alone in a bathroom stall and I looked at my phone and it was 5 in the morning, and I was like, “What happened?! I was at a party with my friends!?”

Speaking to THR, she said she was still “sorting through” the emotions surrounding the experience.

“I still feel like I’m processing those feelings. I understand that it was an incredibly traumatic experience that I have no memory of at all. And it feels weird talking about it because I can’t remember.

“I recently started saying, ‘Wait, the people who let this happen to me are worthless.’ I was recently like, “I actually don’t want to follow this person on Instagram anymore because they left me in a club to get drugged.”

‘God knows what happened to me. And it happened two years ago. I woke up in a bathroom stall, face up at the Beverly Hilton, with blood on my pants. And had been left alone for seven hours at that point.”

She nodded to the incident during her Saturday Night Live appearance.

‘I was like, “Okay, if we do SNL, if I do this (song), I’ll do this.” I’ll be on a red floor and I have to lie down because that’s how I woke up. And there should be red underneath me and I should be all white.”

Rapp also talked about the importance of therapy and how counseling has played an important role in her daily life.

“When I was twenty, a week before the pandemic. I was in a rough place. I had a very serious eating disorder at the time. I lived in New York City for about a year. I was very stressed and incredibly lonely and very sick.

“I’m obsessed with the (therapist) I’m seeing now. The other day I came off stage, and she’s obviously on Eastern Standard Time, and I was in Paris. I had a full-blown anxiety attack and I hit her and I was like, “Queen, can you get on Zoom?” And she said, “Yes, absolutely.” And it makes such a big difference to me because – you know how some people say, “Oh, count five things and take a deep breath?” I honestly wish I could do that. But I’m on a different level, so I do a lot of therapy.”
