It was well documented that Ronaldo and the Dutch manager had been at odds during his final months at Old Trafford, with the 38-year-old admitting he had 'no respect for Ten Hag'.
“I don't respect him because he doesn't respect me,” Ronaldo said before claiming he felt betrayed by the manager.
“Some people don't want me here, not just the coach, but the other two or three guys. Not only this year, but also last year.
“Honestly, I shouldn't say that. But listen, I don't care. People need to listen to the truth. Yes, I feel betrayed.'
Some close to the club had even said that Ten Hag needed to avoid the mines laid by Ronaldo during his first few months at Old Trafford.
Ronaldo's contract was 'mutually terminated' in November 2022, with the former Real Madrid star going on to play for Al-Nassr in the Saudi Pro League on an eye-watering £175m-a-year contract.
Meanwhile, Ten Hag guided United to their first piece of silverware in six years, but admitted he felt Ronaldo had stabbed him in the back after the winger said he did not want to stay at United. during his bombshell interview with Morgan.
'We had one conversation in the summer. He came in and said, “I'll tell you in seven days if I want to stay.” Then he came back and said, 'I want to stay,'” the Dutchman said.

'I never heard anything until that moment (the interview). He never said to me: 'I want to leave'.
'I don't think you can accept the interview as a club. There will be consequences. To take that step, he knew the consequences.”
Despite this, questions have been asked about whether the Dutchman is reckless or ruthless after getting rid of Ronaldo, David de Gea and ruling out Jadon Sancho.
United have had a torrid start to the Premier League this season, dropping to eighth in the table. The pressure on Ten Hag is now increasing after his team suffered eight defeats in the Premier League and crashed out of the Champions League at the same time.
