Remember them? Eskimo Joe frontman has barely aged a day as the rock band release new single 23 years after first hitting the charts

Eskimo Joe took Australia by storm in the 2000s with their catchy rock hits.

And frontman Kavyen Temperley proved he’s barely aged a day since the group’s heyday when he appeared on The Project on Friday night.

The 45-year-old still sports his classic punk look and rockabilly haircut, and told the show that the band still gets along as well as they did when they formed in the 1990s.

“I feel very lucky that we managed to remain friends for this long period of time,” Kav said.

‘Really, that’s the success of any band. Can you stand each other for more than five minutes? Awesome. We’ve been able to tolerate each other for about 27 years.’

The musician added, “So I guess we’re just dealing with what’s in front of us. But actually we are really enjoying the trip. We get along well with each other. We laugh a lot.

‘Stu from the band is very funny. I think that’s probably the secret of our success. We’re still laughing.’

Joined by Stuart MacLeod and Joel Quartermain, Kavyen says the band is back with a new single, The First Time, which they released in March.

They also recently embarked on their National Acoustic Theater Tour of Australia.

Before that, they released their first single in seven years, Say Something, in 2020.

The following year, the band released their first greatest hits album, called The World Repeats Itself Somehow.

Kav has been the lead singer of Eskimo Joe since 1997, and the alternative rock band has had hits on the ARIA charts in the early to mid-2000s.

Those popular singles include From the Sea and Black Fingernails, Red Wine and have won a number of ARIAs, including Single of the Year.
