Remedy Entertainment has confirmed this Alan Wake2 will have a performance mode despite being built for a 30 FPS experience.
As noted by VGCsaid Remedy’s communications director Thomas Puha Tweet yesterday to confirm to fans that the upcoming survival horror game will include a performance mode for current-generation consoles.
“I’m happy to say that Alan Wake2 will have a Performance mode on PS5 and Xbox Series
“The game was built from the ground up as a 30fps experience with an emphasis on visuals and atmosphere, but somehow we managed to add a solid performance mode. We’ll talk about the details later.”
When asked by another user, does performance mode mean the game unlocks with a target of 60 FPS or a true lock of 60 FPS while playing, Puha simply said that Remedy is “still adjusting that.”
So while the PS5 and Xbox Series The developer also hasn’t confirmed whether the feature will be available for the Xbox Series S, so we’ll have to wait to find out.
Alan Wake2 Launching on October 27 for PS5, Xbox Series
The game was initially scheduled for October 17, but Remedy decided to delay the game by 10 days so that players would have a chance to check out other games during this launch-heavy month, such as Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 And Assassin’s Creed Mirage.
The sequel to the 2010 title will also only be available digitally to add more ‘polish’, meaning there will be no physical editions at launch.
