Reese Witherspoon steps out in a pretty checkered dress while promoting Your Place Or Mine in New York

Reese Witherspoon looked gorgeous in tartan on Tuesday while promoting her upcoming rom-com movie in New York City.

The 46-year-old actress stepped out in a black and white checkered dress with a short skirt paired with black tights and black heels.

She had her blonde hair loose and covered with a long black coat as she made her way to The Drew Barrymore Show studio.

Reese also took to Instagram on Tuesday to wish her Your Place Or Mine co-star Ashton Kutcher a happy birthday.

She shared a photo of herself with Ashton, who turned 45 on Tuesday.

Reese and Ashton sat next to each other in director’s chairs in an apparent behind-the-scenes shot of a joint interview.

Happy birthday @aplusk!! Thank you for always making me laugh!!,” Reese wrote as a caption for her approximately 28.9 million followers.

Reese posted on social media after the Your Place Or Mine co-stars came under fire for a lack of chemistry on the red carpet.

Ashton’s wife and former That 70s Show co-star Mila Kunis, 39, agreed while mocking them in a group text.

The actor revealed in a teaser for an upcoming episode of Chicks in the Office, ‘My wife called me. She texted Reese and me together. She says, “Guys, you have to act like you.” And I’m like, “What’s going on?”

“Here’s the thing: if I hugged her and was, like, all friendly to her, I’d be having an affair with her, the rumor mill would be that I’m having an affair with her.”

He further explained, “If I stand next to her, I put my hands in my pockets so there’s no chance that that’s the rumor, the rumor is that we don’t like each other.” Reese and I are very good friends. We are so close. I don’t have to defend that. I don’t have to defend it.

The upcoming romantic comedy follows Debbie, played by Reese, who swaps lives with her best friend Peter, played by Ashton. Debbie during her week in New York City falls for Theo [Jesse Williams] and gets caught in a love triangle after Peter realizes he’s always had feelings for her.

The official tagline for the film read: ‘She longs for the grind with her son in Los Angeles; he thrives on change in New York. When they swap houses and lives for a week, they discover that what they want might not be what they really need.’

Chemistry on the carpet: Ashton and Reese were all smiles at a Monday screening of their new movie Your Place Or Mine in New York City after coming under fire for their lack of chemistry on the red carpet.

The film also features 13-year-old Wesley Kimmel, the nephew of 55-year-old talk show host Jimmy Kimmel.

Reese, in addition to starring in the film, is also a producer and has been busy lately promoting it along with Ashton on the talk show circuit.

Your Place Or Mine was written and directed by Aline Brosh McKenna, 55, who makes her directorial debut with the film.

Zoë Chao, Tig Notaro, and Steve Zahn also have starring roles in the film.

Your Place Or Mine is scheduled to be released on Netflix on Friday.
