Reese Witherspoon made a big announcement on Instagram on Wednesday.
The Oscar winner – who has already done acting, produced TV shows and films and created a clothing line with Draper James – is going a big step further.
The 48-year-old Morning Show actress will co-write a book that will be released next year.
And the man she works with is a big name in the crime thriller genre.
He is Harlan Coben, author of the bestsellers The Innocent, Fool Me Once, The Woods and Shelter.
With Witherspoon’s background in TV and film production, there’s a good chance the novel will be more like a major motion picture.

The as yet unknown novel will be published in the autumn of 2025, she shared on social media.
Reese posed with the author for the announcement.
The movie icon wore a blue button-down shirt with a gold chain, while Harlan wore a green blazer and matching glasses as they both smiled while sitting on a rooftop in New York City.

He told AP: “Once we started discussing her idea, there was no turning back. Working with Reese was a pure joy and so creatively rewarding. I couldn’t be more excited to bring this novel into the world.”
Reese already has a book club that has been very successful and influential.
It was founded in 2017 under its media company Hello Sunshine.
The club has built a reputation for boosting the careers of female authors such as Delia Owens, Celeste Ng and Megan Miranda.
Witherspoon, who recently announced that she had chosen Lauren Ling Brown’s Society of Lies as her book club pick for October, is not the first film artist to collaborate with a prominent fiction writer.

Oscar winner Viola Davis is collaborating with James Patterson on a novel about a black female judge in the rural South.
Witherspoon is directly involved in another notable duo: She and her media company, Hello Sunshine, will produce a film adaptation of the Patterson-Dolly Parton novel Run, Rose, Run.
Last month, Witherspoon teased that she is working with one of Bravo’s The Real Housewives franchise stars on an upcoming project after meeting her on a flight.
And now that Housewife has come forward.
Kyle Richards has confirmed that it was her when she was on a Amazon Live show.
“Yes, that was me, and yes, that was me she was referring to,” Kyle said.
“In case you guys didn’t notice, Reese Witherspoon said something at the Emmys about flying with a Real Housewife and working on something with her. So yeah, I was,” the Bravo beauty added.
As Witherspoon walked the red carpet at the Emmy Awards in LA, she was interviewed by E! News about the real housewives.
Reese said she didn’t have time to watch, but shared, “I recently sat next to a Real Housewife on a flight.”
The reporter asked if she wanted to name the star.
“Um, well, maybe we have a Hello Sunshine project cooking right now, but I can’t say anything,” the actress teased. “But it was cool, it was really cool.”
The actress did not say which city the Real Housewives star is from.

That furthered fan speculation, with many suspecting that Reese is working with Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kyle Richards.
Others thought it was Kyle’s co-star Garcelle Beauvais.
“I’d spend a lot of money on it as Kyle Richards,” one person wrote on Twitter. “It’s Kyle,” someone else added. “It’s probably Kyle Richards! She’s already a producer.’
“I bet she’s working with Garcelle,” another person chimed in.
There were also suspicions that the mysterious housewife could be Ramona Singer or Erika Jayne.
The Oscar winner also shared that she watched The Bear, Swans and Lessons in Chemistry.
Reese, along with co-star Jennifer Aniston, is nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series, while The Morning Show has received ten Emmy nominations, including Outstanding Drama Series.
This is Witherspoon’s fifth Emmy nomination.
She has previously won once in the outstanding limited or anthology series category, for Little Fires Everywhere.
Reese looked stunning on the red carp in a black and gold strapless dress with floral accents.
The 76th annual Primetime Emmy Awards will be held on Sunday, September 15, celebrating the best in television at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, California.
The ceremony will be hosted by Eugene Levy and Dan Levy, who will make history as the first father-son duo to host the program.
In 2020, the actors took home their own Emmy Awards for their work on their hit series Schitt’s Creek, which they created and starred in for six seasons.
