Cincinnati Reds first baseman Joey Votto ‘boldly’ predicts they WILL WIN the World Series in a bizarre response to MLB NL Central’s forecasts as he also foresees an ALIEN invasion
Cincinnati Reds first baseman Joey Votto had an unusual response to an Instagram message posted by Major League Baseball calling for a “bold prediction.”
Votto responded to the question with what appeared to be an odd response rather than an actual prediction.
“Aliens arrive on earth on April 15,” Votto wrote in a comment on the official MLB website.
‘The 12-2 Reds and the rest of the planet learn, communicate and befriend our alien friends. This process lasts 5 months.
‘Play resumes in October. The Reds sweep the playoffs and are World Series champions. Side note: the aliens ask me if I’d like to ride their ship back to their plant. I am pleased never to be seen again.’
Reds first baseman Joey Votto responded to an MLB social media post with a ‘bold prediction’
Votto predicted that the Reds would win a World Series and that aliens would visit Earth in April.
Cincinnati finished tied for the second-worst record in all of baseball at 62-100.
The team is not expected to be much better this season.
Like the rest of the team, the 39-year-old Votto hit for a career-low .205 batting average, while also hitting just 11 home runs in 376 plate appearances.
Votto’s play has fallen far short of the numbers that once made him one of the best hitters in MLB, yet he clearly remains one of the most interesting personalities in gaming.
Last April he posted a TikTok dressed up as Ron Weasley and did a duet of a Doja Cat dance.
In 2017, he offered to buy teammate Zack Cozart a donkey if he made the All-Star Game.
The 16-year veteran is coming off a season in which he hit for the lowest batting average of his career.
