Redmane Freyja is one of the first NPCs you encounter Elden Ring‘S Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. You will meet in her Grave plainat the very beginning of your adventure in the Shadow Realm.
In this Elden Ring DLC guide, I’ll walk you through it how to complete Redmane Freyja’s quest in Shadow of the Erdtree.
Where to find Redmane Freyja NPC in Elden Ring DLC

Redmane Freyja rests next to another NPC, Hornsent, in the Three paths crossroads of grace. You will find this place of grace at the end of the main road Grave plain, before it splits into the road west to Belurat Castle, the road north to the lake and the road east to Ensis Castle. (This is also where you’ll find the first of Miquella’s crosses.)
Talk to Redmane Freyja here until she starts repeating her dialogue. Then continue through Belurat Castle. While inside, you can summon Redmane Freyja for the Divine Beast Dancing Lion boss fight at the top of the castle, but this is not necessary to complete her quest.
Before you leave Gravesite Plain, make sure you find and talk to another NPC. Lord Ansbach, at the Main Gate Cross Site of Grace. You’ll need him later to help Freyja.
Meet Freyja in Shadow Keep

Once you kill the Divine Beast Dancing Lion, you won’t encounter Redmane Freyja again for a while. Continue through the Shadow Realm until you get close Maintain shade. When you do this, you will receive a notification that the Great Rune is broken. This should happen – you haven’t done anything wrong here – and will set some NPCs on a new path.
When the Great Rune breaks, it’s a good idea to go back and… talk to all the NPCs that you’ve met so far, to make sure you progress through their quest lines and hear their new dialogue. This is apparently not necessary for Redmane Freyja, assuming you spoke to her earlier in the DLC. You’ll get some extra context and dialogue from her, though, so it’s best to visit her before continuing.
Once you’ve completed your world tour of NPCs, head to Shadow Keep and continue through the dungeon. Towards the end you will encounter Freyja at the place of mercy on the seventh floor of the Specimen Storehouse. She is behind the site of mercy, dived down and searches for information about General Radahn.
Talk to Freyja and exhaust all her new dialogue. She won’t be in a very conversational mood here, grumbling to herself about having to talk to Sir Ansbach.
Collecting Freyja’s letter from Sir Ansbach

You should have spoken to Sir Ansbach in Gravesite Plain before the Great Rune broke. If you speak to him again after the Great Rune, he will have already gone to Shadow Keep before you arrived. If not, just go talk to him again and rest.
You will find Sir Ansbach on the first floor of the Specimen Storehouse, although not as conveniently located as Redmane Freyja. From the place of mercy on the first floor, go forward around the giant beast, up the stairs to your left, past the bookshelves and down the stairs to your right into a small room. You’ll find Sir Ansbach in the back corner, reading a book.
Talk to Freyja upstairs and then go to Ansbach and tell him about her plight. Do his dialogue and then go back to rest. Return to Sir Ansbach and he will give you the “Letter for Freyja.” Return to Freyja on the seventh floor and give her Ansbach’s letter. Keep talking to her until she runs out of dialogue and gives you the command Golden Lion Shield.
When you rest again, she should disappear.
You can now return to Sir Ansbach to tell him about Freyja’s response to his letter and continue his quest.
How to complete Redmane Freyja’s quest
Once you’ve given Freyja Ansbach’s letter and spoken to her, you’ve effectively completed her quest. However, she will reappear near the end of the DLC – alongside a few other familiar faces. Just continue on the main path and you’ll get the conclusion to her story before reaching the final boss.
