Dozens of Australians have admitted to a ‘disgusting’ bathroom habit that many have described as ‘gross’.
A debate about showering arose on Reddit, with many admitting that they only shower in the morning before work rather than in the evening.
“As an East Asian immigrant here, I ALWAYS shower at night before going to bed. It feels easier to fall asleep with a clean body and also more convenient for sex,” said one bewildered Redditor.
‘I’m told that Australians prefer to shower in the morning after getting up. If it’s true, would you like to shower again in the evening?’
Several people shared their reason for showering before work – mainly to rid their body of night sweats and want to feel fresh.

“I shower in the morning before work, and sometimes in the evening, like if I feel dirty, go out or have been to the gym,” one person wrote.
‘I have a lot of night sweats, so I shower in the morning. I also take a second shower in the afternoon after work, or if I feel the need,” says another.
‘I shower in the morning, and sometimes after I get home from work. However, my household splits it 50/50 between morning and evening showers because otherwise it would be impossible for everyone to get out in the morning,” a third added.
Another said he was surprised at how many people came to work without showering beforehand.
‘They stink and it gets worse as the day goes on. Terrible in an indoor office environment,” they wrote.
Others commenting on the Reddit thread said they prefer to show after work or in both the morning and evening (stock image)
Others said they prefer shows after work or in both the morning and evening.
‘I always shower in the evening before going to bed. If it’s summer, I also take a shower as soon as I get home from work. My bed always has to be nice and clean,” one person wrote.
‘Rinse in the morning to wake up and remove bed hair. After work, a thorough shower as soon as possible as a tradie,’ said another.
For me it’s always evenings, but in general I’m not a morning person. It feels like the best way to unwind at the end of the day, wash away the stress and then get cozy and relax before bed,” a third wrote.
“Morning and evening here – I’m surprised most of you only chose one or the other,” another added.
