A restaurant owner has held back tears as he remembered fearing for his life after allegedly being cheated on by one of the two men during a drunken rampage.
Adan Jimenez, owner of Papi’s Mexican Kitchen in Redcliffe north of Brisbane, says he is lucky to be alive after reportedly getting a glass on the back of his head in front of shocked families dining out Friday night.
Two men, aged 24 and 25, were reported to have gone on a rampage just before 8pm after being thrown from the Cactus Jacks bar, a few shops away in the popular Redcliffe Parade dining district.
Police allege the pair blew a vape in the face of Cactus Jacks staff after being asked to leave.
They then dumped hand sanitizer before taking to the streets and caused a trail of destruction by knocking over tables, throwing plates and throwing umbrellas onto the street.
The pair – one shirtless – were caught on CCTV arguing with restaurant staff as an employee picks up a stool to fend them off.
