Lopez teamed up with the film’s intimacy coordinator, Robbie Taylor Hunt, “to create a sex scene that’s emotional and really about the characters”

Speaking to DailyMail.com, Lopez explained, “I wanted it to look beautiful and I wanted it to feel sexy, and it was also important to me as a gay man that this movie didn’t shy away from depicting gay sex in any way.” . and honestly and accurately.’

He added, “I sometimes think if you’ve seen movies in the past, it’s two guys having sex and it’s like A) that’s not physically possible and B) that seems like it would hurt. So I really longed for better.’

Lopez made it a point to convey his intent to the film’s intimacy coordinator, Robbie Taylor Hunt.

“When I talked to Robbie, I said I really want to make a sex scene that’s emotional and really about the characters. But that someone for whom this is how they have sex reads this accurately and real and true,” he shared.

So that was our goal for ourselves: We both wanted to make something that was sexy, accurate, and true.

“But also just gives the audience a deeper understanding of who these characters are and what’s going on in their emotional lives at that moment.”
