Red Sox infielder Kike Hernandez admits he “shitted himself” during the Los Angeles Dodgers’ 2020 playoff run to the World Series title on the field: “He dropped my pants …completely shattered”
Red Sox infielder Kike Hernandez has revealed that he suffered an embarrassing moment during the 2020 MLB playoffs.
Hernandez, who was playing for the Los Angeles Dodgers at the time en route to their World Series victory, when he pooped his pants while on the field.
The 31-year-old said he was taking medication for a dental infection that caused diarrhea, but didn’t realize he had pooped until he returned to the locker room.
Hernandez blurted out the story during spring training when new Boston third baseman Justin Turner, who also played alongside him in Los Angeles, asked him what was the most embarrassing thing that had happened to him during a game.
‘[In the] 2020 playoffs, I had a dental infection so I was taking some antibiotics for my infection and one of the side effects was diarrhea,” Hernandez said.

The 31-year-old claimed he was having a big party with the Los Angeles Dodgers during NLDS.
‘We had a great out in a great situation during the NLDS and I yelled ‘Yeah, yeah!’ — I was doing DH and I thought he had farted on me.
‘I came out to lead off the inning, struck out on three pitches. When I stepped into the dugout, I went straight to the bathroom and dropped my pants… completely devastated.’
Turner, clearly enjoying his teammate’s humiliating story, sought clarification and pressed Hernandez for more information.
“So you’re saying you misjudged a fart?” she asked her.
Hernandez joined Boston in a free agency deal after picking up the title in 2021.
‘Uh no. What I’m saying is that I shit my pants during a game,” Hernandez said. In the playoffs.
The little Hernandez incident didn’t seem to have fazed him much, though, as he and the Dodgers won the series 4-3 over the Atlanta Braves before beating the Tampa Bay Rays in the 2020 World Series.
Hernandez joined Boston in a post-title free agency deal, signing a two-year, $14 million contract in February 2021.
He re-signed with the Red Sox on a one-year, $10 million deal last offseason.
