Real Salt Lake’s Thursday League Cup game against Club Leon was eventually postponed, but not before fans and media received an unwelcome surprise during a weather delay.

Around 9 PM local time, there was a raccoon captured while falling through the press boxleaving a huge hole in the ceiling.

The critter quickly jumped onto a popcorn machine in the room, but hadn’t been caught yet.

The raccoon found its way to a railing on the hall level at America First Field, where stadium employees tried to lead it to them with a broom.

Their attempts were unsuccessful, however, as the raccoon fell to the ground floor and took off.

A video showed fans chasing the animal before it was later caught.

As for the game itself, Real Salt Lake’s matchup with Club Leon was moved to Friday night at 7pm local time.

The winner of the match will progress to the last 16 of the Leagues Cup.

Salt Lake is currently third in the MLS Western Conference.
