Real Madrid President Florentino Perez meets Vinicius Jr to show support and explain how the club will defend their star player after he was racially abused AGAIN in Valencia
Florentino Perez, president of Real Madrid, has met with Vinicius Jr. to show his support after Sunday’s vile incidents in Valencia.
The Brazilian winger faced racist chants from fans in Mestalla during the LaLiga match, with Vinicius Jr also sent off for punching Hugo Duro in the dying minutes of the 1-0 defeat.
Real Madrid have reacted furiously to Valencia supporters’ treatment of their player and have threatened legal action to ensure their opponents are punished for the racism, briefly halting Sunday’s game.
As play continued, the 22-year-old Brazilian was sent off in stoppage time for colliding with Valencia players, following the intervention of a VAR check.
Now the club posted a video on Twitter of the meeting between Vinicius Jr. and President Perez, to inform him of the steps being taken in his defense.

The club’s official site also posted the footage, with the caption: “The president of Real Madrid met with Vinicius Junior to express his support and affection, to inform him of all steps being taken in his defense and to confirm that the club will do its utmost in the light of such a disgusting hateful incident.’
In an explosive post-match attack, the Brazilian took to social media to say that LaLiga “belongs to racists” and that the Spanish game had fallen to a new low by allowing Sunday’s incidents to happen.
LaLiga president Javier Tebas responded to Vinicius Jr.’s criticism. calling it “deeply unfair” as he swears the Spanish top flight are “ruthless” in the fight against racism.
It is not the first time that Vinicius Jr has been the victim of racist attacks this year
The Brazilian has faced racism from rival fans on numerous occasions this season. Atletico supporters reportedly called him a “monkey” when the sides faced off in September. A Spanish prosecutor later concluded that the chants “did not constitute a crime” as they “lasted only a few seconds.”
Further racist chants were unleashed by Valladolid fans in January, and Mallorca and Osasuna supporters the following month, leading to LaLiga filing complaints with the court.
After the Valencia incident, Real Madrid confirmed they will take legal action, condemning the singing as a “hate crime”. The complaint has been submitted to the Public Prosecution Service.
The winger has scored 23 goals in 53 appearances in all competitions for the Spanish giants.
