Real Madrid are reportedly identified as Brighton’s highly regarded Moises Caicedo as the replacement for club legend Luka Modric.
The Ecuadorian’s midfield performance has been widely acclaimed as they have played in every Premier League game they’ve played to date – with the Seagulls in eighth place in the standings.
His stellar performances could soon be rewarded with a big-money move to Madrid, although Brighton will hope the Ecuadorian’s high rating will see him stay with Amex after this summer.

According to chipsMadrid President Perez has identified the Brighton star as the replacement for veteran midfielder Luka Modric – who is likely to leave in the coming seasons.
The Spanish giants are said to be impressed by Caicedo’s physique, technical quality, speed and versatility in midfield.
Jude Bellingham, Florian Wirtz, Enzo Fernández and Bruno Guimaraes were a few names mentioned as possible midfielders for next summer and now Caicedo’s name has been added to the list.
Although Brighton will hope their £68m valuation of the 21-year-old will be enough to deter Madrid from making an approach.
The high price tag stems from his young age, the three years remaining on his current contract and the fact that he is seen as a key feature of their team.
Caicedo has scored two goals in his 22 appearances for the Seagulls in the past two years
Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham has been linked with a move to Madrid in recent weeks
In September, it was reported that ex-Brighton coach Graham Potter was willing to offer Caicedo a new bumper deal in a bid to fend off any transfer interests. The midfielder is associated with Arsenal and Man United.
Potter has since left the club to join Chelsea, but new boss Roberto De Zerbi is likely to have a similar view of Caicedo’s situation.
The midfielder is currently one of the club’s lowest earners – with a reported weekly wage of £10,000 a week – but the club were willing to offer a pay increase of almost £60,000 a week.
This would make him one of the biggest earners on the side, alongside Danny Welbeck and Adam Lallana.
Roberto De Zerbi will hope his side can hold on to Caicedo in the transfer window
Caicedo was also linked with Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool over the summer, but stayed with Brighton.
Brighton signed Caicedo from Independiente del Valle in August 2021 for a fee of £3.6million.
His value has grown exponentially since his arrival in the Premier League, having barely put a foot wrong during his 22 appearances for the Seagulls.
Caicedo scored his second Brighton goal in a 5-2 win over Leicester in September
