Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham trumped Micah Richards over an apparent bet they had ahead of the Spanish giants’ Champions League match against Manchester City.

Richards’ former team went down on penalties to Bellingham and Los Blancos on Wednesday after drawing 4-4 on aggregate.

After the game, the 20-year-old kept the CBS football analyst on his side of the bet.

“He’s still supposed to be wearing the Madrid shirt after the little bet we had, so I’m disappointed I didn’t see that,” Bellingham told Anita Nneka Jones. ‘Hopefully we’ll see it before the semi-finals.’

Bellingham, who has scored four goals in the Champions League this season and 16 in total for Real Madrid, stressed the importance of their victory over City as they prepare to face Bayern Munich in the semi-finals.

‘Huge game [and] huge payoff for use in the end,” Bellingham shared. “Taking penalties and getting the job done there. We did what it took to win. Everyone had them as favorites, but we know what we are capable of, and we showed that tonight.”

Real Madrid’s next opponent, Bayern Munich, put Arsenal away with a 1–0 win in the second leg, after a 2–2 draw in the first.

However, former Gunner and club legend Thierry Henry suggested the heartbreaking loss could be a ‘good thing’ for the Premier League hopefuls.

“If we play three games a week, we’re going to struggle,” Henry said. ‘So maybe it could be a good thing for us in the Premier League. But like I said, we’re equipped to play every three days.”

The Frenchman also noted how both sides tried not to lose the game more than to win it.

“You could see that the two teams, and I’ve said it many times, don’t want to lose the game,” Henry claimed. “They didn’t really go for it.”

After both falling to their continental counterparts, England’s two top teams can focus on the race to win the Premier League. After 32 games into the season, City have a two-point lead over Arsenal and Liverpool on 73 points.

While Real Madrid and Bayern Munich prepare for their first leg on April 30, Borussia Dortmund and Paris Saint Germain on the other side will battle for a place in the UCL final in London.
