Jude Bellingham could miss up to four Real Madrid games if England star is judged to have called Mason Greenwood a ‘rapist’ during their match two weeks ago.

Images circulating on social media led fans to believe they had seen Bellingham mutter the insult against the Getafe striker when the two sides clashed in early February.

The Greenwood club reported Bellingham for the second-half incident and an expert report has been prepared to try to understand what happened during the heated encounter.

HANDLE report that the Real Madrid star could be sanctioned for up to four matches under regulations if he is believed to have uttered Greenwood’s alleged insult.

The Spanish newspaper also reports that the Spanish Football Federation’s competition committee is already in possession of the report of a lip-reading expert, after RFEF ordered it in the days after the incident.

Expert witness and forensic lip reader Jeremy Freeman had told Mail Sport that he is ’97 percent certain’ of that Bellingham said the insult Greenwood during their meeting on Thursday, February 1.

In the next step, an investigating judge will collect all available information about what happened, and within about fifteen days they will make a proposal for a sanction or a rejection of Getafe’s complaint, depending on their conclusion.

From that moment on, the clubs have another ten working days to present their own cases.

A goal from Joselu in each half gave Real Madrid a 2-0 away win over Getafe, which they have since followed up with a draw against Atletico Madrid and an impressive 4-0 win over Girona on Saturday.

Bellingham injured his left ankle in the win over Girona and will be out for around three weeks, but is expected to be available for England’s games against Brazil and Belgium in March.

Greenwood mutually agreed to leave former side Manchester United on loan following the conclusion of an internal investigation into the player’s conduct.

Greenwood was previously charged with attempted rape, assault and coercive behavior in January 2022, but the charges were dropped by the Crown Prosecution Service in February 2023 following the withdrawal of key witnesses.
