Real Madrid have reportedly decided to sack a member of the club’s youth team over a farewell letter he posted after leaving Barcelona.
Adria Diaz joined Los Blancos in July to serve as assistant to Sergio Lopez for the club’s ‘Juvenil C’ under-17 team.
According to a report from Athleticismthe club made the decision to relieve Diaz of his duties just months into his one-year contract after discovering a letter written by the coach following his departure from Barcelona where he held various positions between 2015 and 2019.
Diaz expressed his gratitude to his former employers in the letter, calling the Catalans “the club of my dreams” and thanking them for the support he received at a time when his mother was suffering from cancer.
“We don’t know how to begin to express in words the enormous amount of feelings that have flooded me for several days, difficult, very difficult to express in these lines everything that is going through my head and in my heart.” Diaz wrote in the letter.

“It’s been 4 years since I joined this club, I still remember this call I received telling me that I was going to join the club of my dreams… I didn’t believe it… I would be the coach of FC Barcelona…
“During these 4 years, what I really take with me is not the successes obtained or lost (leagues, tournaments, etc.), but the possibility of going all over the world to represent my club. life, no one can take it away from me.
“On the other hand, this experience made me grow in every way in my life, because now I am a better COACH and above all a better PERSON.”
Despite ending his time in the Spanish capital prematurely, Diaz will reportedly receive his full salary for the remainder of his contract and has been offered a role at Segunda Division side Leganes’ academy.
However, a Real Madrid source disputed these claims, insisting that Diaz had asked to leave the club in order to pursue the opportunity at Leganes.
