Real Madrid fans have expressed their solidarity with Vinicius Jr. who was racially insulted during their 1-0 defeat to Valencia last weekend.

The Brazilian, who has repeatedly been the victim of racial discrimination this season, took to the pitch before the game to thank fans for their support.

A banner was seen in the Bernabeu reading ‘Vinicius somos todos, basta ya!’ which translates into: ‘We are all Vinicius, enough already!’

His teammates wore Real Madrid shirts with his name and the number 20 on the back as a show of solidarity with the striker.

In addition to their opposition, Rayo Vallecano, Carlo Ancelotti’s side, held up a red banner reading: “Racists out of football.”

During the game, fans rose from their seats to applaud the striker in the 20th minute of the game, in tribute to his jersey number.

The Brazilian again showed his appreciation by standing up and giving a thumbs up to the supporters surrounding the Bernabeu.
