A young woman was shocked when an engaged man she barely knew started sending her inappropriate messages, but everything came to light when she contacted his fiancée.
Sophie, from the US, was surprised to see a new message from Paul, an old acquaintance from high school – especially since he had several posts with his then fiancée.
The message read: ‘I’m going to take a chance and ask if you want to hang out with me sometime.’
When Sophie inquired about his relationship status, he said, “I’m not (married) yet. You’re beautiful and I wouldn’t mind getting to know you before I’m ‘officially’ out of bounds.”
Disgusted by his infidelity, Sophie sought out his fiancée to reveal the truth.

After finding the other woman online, Sophie said: ‘Your fiancé has been sending me some inappropriate things and I thought you should know. I’ve been on the other side before and I always would have liked it if someone told me.’
The fiancée’s reaction almost made Sophie burst into tears.
The other woman wrote: ‘Don’t feel bad, some things never change. I appreciate you telling me because I thought we were past this.”
Her implication meant that the man had probably been unfaithful in the past as well.
‘She didn’t seem that surprised, which was incredibly sad. I hope she didn’t go through with the wedding,” Sophie wrote on Reddit.
Paul sent Sophie a nasty message after speaking to his fiancée, scolding her for getting in the middle of their relationship.
“You need to mind your damn business and stop trying to be social media, Doctor Phil. Also, stop texting my fiance. Our relationship is out of your hands,” Paul wrote.
He then blocked her account, so she has no idea if the couple is still married.

Many in the comments shamed him for his behavior.
“I’ve never understood this logic with guys: How does being engaged not feel like you’re off the market?” someone asked.
“I think an engaged man trying to hit on you is your business, he’s so gross,” said another.
‘Reading your responses was very satisfying. I handled the situation perfectly,” one person praised.
“And unfortunately the fiancée will remain a fiancée and the cycle will never change. From his texts alone, it sounds like they are probably still together and she continues to let him control her,” one woman commented.
