A very smiley Joe Biden promised to cooperate Donald Trump to achieve a peaceful transition and urged the country to come together, while breaking his silence on the elections.
He spoke from the White House Rose Garden two days after the election that resulted in a landslide victory for the former president.
Good morning, good morning, good morning, thank you, thank you, please, good to see this cabinet and its staff here together. Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you. please thank you, thank you, thank you.
It’s good to see you all, especially good to see my granddaughter sitting here in the front row. Hi Finn, how are you darling?
The 81-year-old commander-in-chief spoke from the White House Rose Garden on Thursday afternoon in his first public appearance since Trump’s landslide victory
For more than 200 years, America has been conducting the greatest experiment in self-government in the history of the world that isn’t hyper—that’s a fact. We are the people, the people vote and elect their own leaders and they do it peacefully and we are in a democracy where the will of the people always prevails.
Yesterday I spoke with President-elect Trump to congratulate him on his victory and I assured him that I am directing my entire administration to work with his team to ensure a peaceful and orderly transition, which is what the American people deserves.
Yesterday I also spoke with Vice President Harris. She has been a partner and a civil servant. She ran an inspiring campaign and everyone got to see something that I learned early on that I respect her character so much. She has a spine like a ramrod. She has a great character, a real character. She has committed herself wholeheartedly and she and her entire team can be proud of the campaign they have run.
You know the battle for America’s soul has been an ongoing debate since our founding and remains vital today. I know that for some people it is a time for victory, for others it is a time of losing campaigns or a battle of competing visions. The country chooses one or the other. We accept the choice the country has made.
Biden blew a kiss to all his supporters at the end of his speech
I have often said that you cannot love your country only when you win. You cannot love your neighbor only if you agree on something. I hope that no matter who you voted for, we can see each other not as opponents, but as compatriots, to lower the temperature.
I also hope that later we can ask the question about the integrity of the American electoral system: it is fair, honest and transparent and you can trust it to win or lose.
President Joe Biden pledged to work with Donald Trump to achieve an orderly and peaceful transition as he broke his silence on the election
I also hope that we can restore respect for all our election workers who have been breaking their necks and taking risks from the beginning. We should thank them for staffing voting sites that count votes and protect the integrity of the election. Many of them are volunteers who simply do it out of love for their country.
And as they did their duty as citizens, I will do my duty as President. I will fulfill my oath and honor the Constitution. On January 20th we will have a peaceful transition of power here in America.
To all our incredible staff supporters, cabinet members, all the people who interacted with me over the past four years: God loves you, as my mother would say. Thank you very much. You’ve put so much into the past four years.
I know it’s a hard time, you’re hurting. I hear you and I see you, but don’t forget, don’t forget everything we’ve accomplished, it’s been a historic presidency, not because I’m president, because what we’ve done, what you’ve done, a presidency for all Americans, Much of the work we’ve done is already being felt by the American people. The vast majority of it will not be felt for another decade.
We have passed legislation that is only now really taking effect. We’re going to see more than a trillion dollars of infrastructure work being done, changing the lives of people in rural communities and communities that are in real difficulty because it takes time to get it done. so much more. It will take time, but there the road ahead is clear, assuming we stick with it. There is so much that we can do and will get done based on the way the legislation was passed, and it is truly historic. You know we’re leaving behind the strongest economy in the world. I know people are still hurting, but things are changing quickly.
Together, we have changed America for the better now that we have 74 days to complete our term. Let’s make every day count, that’s the responsibility we have to the American people.
Look people, you all know it: setbacks are inevitable in your life, but giving up is unforgivable, setbacks are inevitable. But giving up is unforgivable, we all get knocked down, but the measure of our character, as my father would say, is how quickly we get back up.
As he concluded his remarks, he blew a kiss to the audience and emphasized that his government should be proud of its record

Remember, defeat does not mean we are defeated. We have lost this battle. The America of your dreams calls you to rise again. That has been the story of America for over 240 years.
It’s a story for all of us, not just some of us, the American experiment endures, we will be fine, but we must stay committed, we must keep going and above all we must keep the faith, so proud to be with everyone have worked together from you, I really mean it, I sincerely mean it.
God bless you all, God bless America and may God protect our troops. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
