Read the disturbing full letter Brian Laundrie’s mother wrote before Gabby Petito’s untimely death: ‘Burn after reading’

  • The Disappearance Of Gabby Petito airs on Thursday, May 9 on ITVX

A new show titled The Disappearance Of Gabby Petito will air on ITVX on Thursday, May 9 and will explore the investigation surrounding her disappearance.

Gabby, a vlogger who was murdered at the age of 22 by her fiancé, Brian Laundrie, was one of the most recognizable names in the United States after her death.

The new documentary series follows the twists and turns of the investigation and tells the story of a mysterious murder.

Interviews with Gabby’s parents reveal that the family’s torment is at the heart of such a case, while there are also contributions from internet sleuths who have dedicated their online lives to solving her disappearance.

In May 2023, CNN received a letter from Brian’s mother, Roberta Laundrie, in which she wrote that she would help him “dispose of a body” or “bake a cake with a file in it” to help him get through jail.

Roberta claimed the letter was written before her son’s trip with Petito, and one of her lawyers released a statement saying the letter was “in no way related to Gabby.”

However, these claims have been disputed by Petito’s family.

The envelope containing the letter was marked “burnt after reading” and was recovered from Brian Laundrie’s backpack when his remains were found in October 2021.

The letter also contains quotes from the Roman passage of the Bible. ‘Nothing can separate us; “no hatred, no hunger, no homelessness, no threats, not even sin, not the thinkable or unthinkable can come between us,” it reads.

The full language of the letter was revealed nearly two years after the young couple took a cross-country trip that was extensively documented on social media.

Petito’s remains were found in September 2021 in the Bridger-Teton National Forest in Wyoming and her death was ruled a homicide by manual strangulation.

On October 20, 2021, Brian Laundrie’s remains were found and it was later concluded that he shot himself.

The FBI was then able to discover that he had written in a notebook that he was responsible for Ms. Petito’s death.

“I want you to remember that I will always love you, and I know you will always love me.

‘You’re my boy. Nothing can stop me from loving you.”

“Nothing will or can ever divide us: whatever we do, or where we go, or what we say – we will always love each other.”

‘If you’re in jail, I’ll bake a cake with a file in it. If you need to dispose of a body, I’ll come by with a shovel and garbage bags.’

“If you fly to the moon, I will look to the sky for your return. If you say you hate my guts, I’ll get new guts.”

“Remember that love is a verb, not a noun. It’s not a thing, it’s not words, it’s actions. Look at people’s actions to know if they love you, not their words.”

‘Therefore I am sure that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor ruling spirits, nor things present, nor things to come, nor the powers above, nor the powers below, nothing in all created world can separate our love.’

”’Neither hostile powers, nor messengers from heaven, nor monarchs on earth. Nothing has the power to separate us…” –Romans 8:38 (expanded version!)’.

‘(Nothing can separate us: ‘no hatred, no hunger, no homelessness, no threats, not even sin, not the thinkable or unthinkable can come between us.) ~Not time. Not miles and miles and miles’.
