Raye says she’s ‘so grateful’ to have opened for Taylor Swift’s last London show of her Eras tour as she shares special handwritten note from the megastar
Raye has revealed she is ‘so grateful’ to have been given the opportunity to support Taylor Swift’s latest Eras tour in London, as the megastar completed an epic tour in Wembley.
The 26-year-old singer was one of five acts chosen to open for the 34-year-old American star when she headed to Wembley Stadium from August 15-20 to perform five more times for a sold-out concert.
Raye took to Instagram on Wednesday after her amazing performance to share a series of photos from this month, including some of her amazing stage performances and a photo of her hugging Taylor.
Raye shared a glimpse of Taylor’s handwritten note in between snaps, in which she says she’s a “huge fan” of the Escapism hitmaker, before thanking her for opening her show.
The message read: ‘Raye, I am such a huge fan of yours and have been for years. I can’t believe my luck that you have said yes and are joining us for such an important night on The Eras Tour, our last night (in) Wembley! Thank you (from the) bottom of my heart.’

Raye – real name Rachel Agatha Keen – also uploaded an image of the sealed envelope, which featured Taylor’s personalized wax seal with her initials ‘TS’.
Raye captioned her post, “So thankful to be opening for @taylorswift, so thankful for the festivals and shows, so thankful that people are actually coming to see us, so thankful to be a musician, so thankful that Instagram let me add more photos from my dump. Big kiss from me.”
The Brit Award winner also shared a photo of herself and Taylor to her stories, writing: “Thank you @taylorswift for everything. You are the sweetest, sweetest person and I am so grateful.”
Raye’s excitement comes after she looked absolutely sensational in a navy blue dress as she performed at Lollapalooza Music Festival in Grant Park in Chicago, Illinois earlier this month.
The British singer looked stunning in the stylish strapless dress, which perfectly accentuated her slim figure.
She wore a matching navy scarf and accessorised with a pair of stunning silver floral earrings.
Record-breaking British award-winner Raye was in high spirits as she sang her hits for the American audience.
It comes after Raye was moved at Capital’s Summertime Ball when she gave an emotional speech about people who have been victims of sexual violence, also referring to her own experiences.

She made these statements when announcing her song Ice Cream Man during the concert at Wembley Stadium in June.
The song is about Raye who was sexually abused at the age of 17 by a music producer, who pushed his hand between her legs.
“I wanted to sing this song for you today,” Raye said. “I don’t know why exactly. Maybe it’s because I need to sing this song for myself.
“This is a really difficult topic. So when I started looking into the statistics and the statistics were that one in four women and men will experience some form of sexual violence in their lifetime.”

Raye added: “And that’s a quarter of you. That’s 20,000 people in this place who can relate to the words of this song, which blows my mind because I know most of us walk around pretending that everything is fine – and sometimes it’s not.
“Sometimes you gotta talk loudly about things you’ve been silent about your whole life. I can do that in my music, so forgive the sad subject matter of this song.”
At the end of the emotional song, Raye said, “Thank you for putting up with me. Yeah, it’s a lot.”
