Raye fans will have to be patient until they can hear her highly anticipated second album, but that’s not her fault.
The British singer, 27, has revealed her car was stolen with all her songwriting books in the boot.
The Mercury Prize nominated artist, 27, who took home six gongs at this year’s Brit Awards, had been working on the follow-up to her debut album My 21st Century Blues.
On Thursday evening, she shared some photos from her birthday celebrations on her Instagram, where she revealed the devastating news.
She wrote: ‘It’s my birthday and my car got stolen with all my songbooks in the boot so no second album anytime soon, I love you, bye.’

Radio host Clara Amfo, singer Mabel, rapper Stefflon Don and Love Island star Indiyah Polack also took to the comments section to wish the music star a happy birthday.
Fellow musician Miles Graham noted that something similar had happened to him and that the music always means more than the car.
In the carousel of beautiful photos, one of the images showed a cake with sprinkles and red icing with the words, “Sorry your car was stolen.”
Another saw the star beaming from ear to ear as she held a pink sign reading ‘Queen for the Day’ next to some playing cards.
As she crouched down in a spotted T-shirt and checked trousers, a beautiful backdrop of blue sea and sky could be seen.
In another photo she shared with her 1.9 million followers, Raye sat at a table with another cake and wore a puffy pink crown.

The Brit School graduate, known for hits such as Prada with Casso and D-Block Europe, has been rising through the ranks for years and signed with Polydor Records as a teenager.
She later lent her vocals to top five hits by David Guetta and Jax Jones and wrote lyrics for Beyonce and Rihanna.
Despite her talent, her solo work did not reach the same heights and in 2021 she expressed her frustration that her label would not let her release her debut album yet.
By the end of 2022, she had struck out on her own and her dance song Escapism featuring 070 Shake had gone viral on TikTok, rocketing up the charts to number one.
