A real estate agent has been fired for mocking tenants for making $50,000 a year and claiming her tax bill would cover payments to Centrelink.

Aimee Therese Marsh was a top performing agent at Ray White Aspley, near Griffin in north Brisbane, until she was fired on Tuesday for taunting tenants in a local Facebook group.

“They are a disgrace and irrelevant,” she wrote.

“Half of them don’t even own a house in Griffin. They’re tenants,” she added with a laughing emoji.

Her out-of-the-ordinary comments were made through her professional social media page, quickly exposing her as the author.

They have since been deleted, as has her social media profile.

When another user suggested that renters were “nobody,” Ms. Marsh said “probably making $50,000 a year and jealous of me.”

“I pay twice their wages in taxes, or I probably pay their Centrelink wages,” she said.

She then made another comment from her personal Facebook page, “Jealousy is a curse and money controls people and emotions lol.”

“I can’t wait to sell the houses they rent out, hehe.”

On Tuesday, Ray White posted a statement on Facebook saying Ms Marsh’s employment had been ‘terminated with immediate effect’.

A spokesperson for Ray White told Daily Mail Australia she was fired “within about an hour” after the agency’s social media team found her comments.

“We respect and value everyone in our community, and we have a large community of people who rent.

“Aimee Marsh’s views do not align with our company’s values.”

“We pride ourselves on our customer service, we have a large community of tenants and we will not tolerate such a thing.”

The spokesperson apologized to anyone offended by her comments and said Ms Marsh has been receiving advice through the agency’s employee assistance program.

Despite offending tenants, the records show that Ms. Marsh is a relatively new homeowner herself, having bought her first home in March and living about $400,000 for a three-bedroom apartment in Griffin.

Ms. Marsh was named Agent of the Month by her former employer in January for generating $3.7 million in sales.

According to her LinkedIn bio, she has “an exceptional understanding of a customer’s needs and wants” and “is very aware of the importance of customer satisfaction.”

She also described herself as “#1 cop in Griffin” on her personal Facebook page, which has now been deactivated, saying she was “career driven” in the Instagram bio.

Ms. Marsh’s professional profiles have since been removed from the company website and her professional Facebook page has been deleted.

Daily Mail Australia has contacted Ms Marsh for comment.
