Fans of Argentina’s second-tier Independiente Rivadavia celebrated their team’s victory just a little too early.
While facing Deportivo Maipu at home – with whom they are battling for the top of the table – Independiente’s home fans started setting off fireworks in the stadium.
As the home side began running on a long breakaway, fans began shooting bright red fireworks in a stunning display.
They continued to fire as the home side attempted to extend their 2-1 lead well into stoppage time.
But Maipu’s goalkeeper was able to save despite all the chaos around him.

A last chance shot from Deportivo Maipu was easily cleared by the Independiente keeper and the final whistle sounded.
Fans, players and coaching staff all rushed onto the pitch as Independiente overtook Maipu for first place in the Zona B division of the Primera B Nacional competition.
