Disgusting moment ‘family of rats’ run wild at a Westfield: ‘I’m never eating there again’
Shocking images have emerged of a ‘family’ of rats rummaging for leftovers at a food court in a popular shopping centre.
The huge rodents were spotted by three shocked women on Friday as they ran through the Westfield in Parramatta, in Sydney’s west.
A video taken by one of the women showed that the empty food court had trash and food packaging from nearby restaurants strewn across the tables.
“There are rats everywhere, all these rats,” she said in the video on TikTok.
A second said she will ‘never eat there again’ because the sight was so ‘disgusting’.
“We sit on those chairs and put our feet there, and that’s where they live,” the third woman said.
A second video showed one of the rats putting its paws on a chicken bone before running away.
The rodent then jumped under a cushioned couch before disappearing.

The footage shocked social media users, who were disgusted by the rodents growing so large and ‘thriving’ in the mall.
“I’ll never eat there again, I feel sick,” one user wrote.
‘That’s not a rat, that’s a cat! Look how big they are,” a second commented.
“I’m not a picky person but that’s fucking disgusting, those rats are huge,” wrote a third.
Other users said the three women would be shocked to see how many rats appear around any food source in Sydney.
“I’m going to hold your hand when I tell you this baby, there are rats everywhere in Sydney,” one person wrote.
“Wherever there is food or trash there are rats, shopping centers and restaurants are full of them,” said another.
Footage of rats of similar size was filmed at the mall in May 2022, and again in July 2021.
Daily Mail Australia contacted Westfield for comment.
