Eric Carmen dead at 74: Raspberries singer famous for hits Hungry Eyes and All By Myself passes away in his sleep leaving beloved wife devastated
Raspberry frontman Eric Carmen, known for his solo hits Never Gonna Fall in Love Again, She Did It and Hungry Eyes, has died at the age of 74.
His wife Amy, whom he married in 2016, confirmed the devastating news on his website on Monday.
“It is with immense sadness that we share the heartbreaking news of Eric Carmen’s passing,” she wrote. ‘Our sweet, loving and talented Eric passed away in his sleep this weekend.
“It brought him great joy to know that his music touched so many people for decades and will be his lasting legacy,” she continued. “Please respect the family’s privacy as we mourn our tremendous loss.”

His exact cause of death is unknown at this time.
He rose to fame after releasing his breakthrough hit Go All the Way with the pop rock Raspberries, which formed in 1970 from Cleveland, Ohio.
The group had success in the early 1970s and was inspired by bands such as The Beatles, The Who, The Hollies and Small Faces.
After a period of five years, the band went their separate ways professionally.
Their best-known songs include Let’s Pretend, I Wanna Be with You, Tonight and Overnight Sensation (Hit Record).
