Just when you thought it was all over! Marcus Rashford, Harry Kane and co arrive in St George’s Park as the England squad prepares for the European Championship qualifiers against Malta and North Macedonia

England stars have arrived at St George’s Park ahead of the European Championship qualifiers against Malta and North Macedonia.

Gareth Southgate selected his side, with some surprising exclusions, including Chelsea’s Mason Mount and Raheem Sterling.

Lewis Dunk received his first call-up to the national side in five years after an impressive season at Brighton & Hove Albion and was one of the players to arrive on Sunday.

He was joined by regular suspects Marcus Rashford and Harry Kane, both of whom join their clubs in post-season fixtures after impressive campaigns.

Harry Maguire was also pictured despite an inconsistent season at club level, arriving alongside Man United teammate Luke Shaw.

Relegated James Maddison was back in the squad after a somewhat surprising inclusion in Southgate’s World Cup squad in December.

Marc Guehi could benefit from the fact that John Stones will be absent against Malta, with the centre-back looking to cement his place in Southgate’s plans ahead of Euro 2024.

Fellow Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze has also made the squad following his recent run of form as he has scored six goals in his last 10 appearances for the club. The midfielder arrived for the European Championship qualifiers with a smile on his face.

Tyrone Mings’ recent form also earned the defender a call-up to the side, as a useful option for Southgate on the left side of defense if he chooses to field the Aston Villa captaincy.

The Three Lions will play Malta on Friday before hosting North Macedonia in the Euro 2024 qualifiers.

England started their qualifying campaign with a 2-1 victory over Italy.

Southgate’s side then beat Ukraine 2–0 at Wembley a few days later as they top Group C with six points in two games.
