Rashee Rice is expected to receive a multi-game suspension by the NFL following the Kansas City Chiefs star’s 120-mph car crash in Dallas, which left him facing eight charges.

The Super Bowl winner surrendered to police earlier this month after he and another driver of a speeding sports car crashed accident involving six vehicles on a Dallas freeway in March.

Rice, 24, faces one count of aggravated assault, one count of collision with serious bodily injury and six counts of collision with serious bodily injury.

But, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefterthe wide receiver is also facing disciplinary action from the NFL and the prospect of a long-term ban looms for the Chiefs.

Rice could receive a “multi-game suspension,” according to Schefter, and that could prompt the Chiefs to select a wide receiver in the NFL Draft later this week.

Chiefs coach Andy Reid and general manager Brett Veach are the No. 32 pick entering this week’s draft and need to improve their offensive options.

The Chiefs’ 38 drops last season were the most in the NFL and because they have already signed free agent Marquise “Hollywood” Brown, they are expected to add more depth at receiver.

Rice’s role in Reid’s offense grew as last season progressed, becoming one of Patrick Mahomes’ most trusted targets along with Travis Kelce.

But his pending legal issues following the car crash in Dallas could cause him to miss the opening weeks of next season.

“I think like any position, we’re always looking to be better,” Veach said.

‘We place a high priority on the depth in our squad, so we will attack as we do in all positions and try to get the very best players we can.’

Since the Chiefs will pick last in the first round, it helps their case that wide receiver is one of the deepest positions in the draft. Three are expected to make it into the top 10 and six or more could go before the first night is over.

The other priority for Kansas City is at tackle, where Donovan Smith is hitting free agency and the position remains largely vacant. Other positions where the Chiefs could add some depth include running back, tight end and defensive back.

“Each team’s process is a little different and unique. We have ours and there’s always an opportunity to refine and fine-tune things,” Veach said.

“Again, I think in this league because of such a long season – I’m talking about a 20-game season, it’s a marathon, you have to attack every position with the mentality of having that depth because it’s not a matter of if, but when will players go down.’

The Chiefs could also use more help at running back, even after bringing back Clyde Edwards-Helaire, and perhaps another tight end to prepare for life after Kelce.

The Chiefs opted to keep one of the league’s best defenses intact, re-signing All-Pro defensive tackle Chris Jones to a massive deal, along with five other regular players.

So after playing defense-heavy in recent years, the Chiefs are largely good on that entire side of the ball, though they might be able to catch a late flier on a pass rusher or defensive back.

The Chiefs have the last pick in each round after winning their second straight Super Bowl and third in five years, so unless they make a trade, their initial selection will be No. 32 overall.

They have late picks in each of the rounds except the fifth, where they moved up in a trade with Dallas last year, and they also have a compensatory selection.
