The 10-year-old son of rapper Lil Durk allegedly shot his stepfather during a domestic dispute with the boy’s mother.
Surveillance cameras captured the moment the child grabbed the gun from his stepfather, Joshua Pippens, and then pointed his own weapon at him before firing.
Video footage shows Pippens, dressed in orange, trying to hold the child’s mother, who is wearing purple.
In the midst of the commotion, the child, dressed in a red T-shirt and shorts, points what appears to be a gun directly at Pippens.

The video then cuts to the argument continuing in the middle of the street as the child fires the gun
The video cuts to another scene, where the fight moves from the sidewalk to the middle of the street, with the couple still arguing.
The child then points the gun at Pippens as a single shot rings out.
Pippens is then seen falling to the ground after being hit by a bullet.
The shooting incident took place on July 1. Since then, Pippens has been speaking out from his hospital bed.
Pippens wrote on social media that he was not the aggressor and that the young child was merely following his mother’s commands.
“As you can see, I was not the aggressor,” Pippens said online. “And you can also see I still had my gun on my hip. He took my gun off my hip, followed his mother’s lead and tried to shoot me, and then he actually shot me.
“I had a gun on my hip and I was trying to protect myself from gunshot wounds,” he explained.

Pippens told social media users from his hospital bed that he was not the aggressor and that the young child was simply following his mother’s orders.
The street brawl was captured on CCTV
Rapper Lil Durk has 10 children – five girls and five boys – and has so far not commented on the incident
“I never thought a kid with four-wheelers, soccer leagues and everything that goes with it would do this, but he only knows what his momma shows him,” Pippens said. “I still love him like he’s my own.”
Pippens suggested that the discussion may have been about custody of a child the couple have together.
“Whatever makes you feel better. That’s why I have custody of my children and they don’t. Y’all think like that on the internet [sic] “God, I was the one who shot and not her,” he wrote.
“Listen, nobody goes to jail or they would be there already. I’m doing this for rights over my children. Call me whatever you want. And besides, this was with my mother, for my mother, my grandmother, and more children. I pray that you guys get through whatever situation God is putting you all through because you played with me,” Pippens added.
