A convicted rapist is said to have cut off his ex-wife’s nose and ears in a horrific hours-long attack and left her terrified 10-year-old son to watch.

Azamat Estebesov, 39, tortured his ex-wife Asel Nogoibaeva, 36, for ‘hours’ as their shocked son was forced to watch the barbaric knife attack on their home in Kyrgyzstan.

Estebesov, who was convicted of Asel’s rape but had not served time in prison, allegedly attacked his wife after accusing her of cheating on him.

The rapist is said to have attacked the mother of two as she took her son to school near the capital Bishkek, knocking her unconscious with the force of the brutal attack. He then took the mother and child back to their apartment.

It was here that Estebesov launched the horrific, hours-long attack, cutting off Asel’s nose and ears as she screamed in pain – while their child hid under the covers.

A neighbor woke up during the night and said he heard a man’s voice shouting, “Don’t cry or I’ll get angry.”

“I immediately called the police,” the neighbor said. ‘When the door opened, he ran out of the kitchen and attacked the police (before being apprehended). There was blood everywhere in the flat.’

They added: “Asel was also covered in blood. He cut off her nose and ears. Bones were visible from the knife wounds. He tortured her with real cruelty.

‘When she was rescued, he shouted at her that he would stab her more often if she complained to the police.’

Doctors fought for eight hours to save the life of Asel, who is now severely disfigured, reports say.

Asel has now made her name public in a bid to raise money to travel from her home country of Kyrgyzstan to Turkey for a £37,000 operation to rebuild her disfigured face.

Her cousin Diana Elken, who runs the fundraising account, said Asel is in the hospital.

“I cannot accept this face because there is nothing left of Assel’s ears and nose,” Elken said.

The attack came shortly after Adel went to police to warn her life was in danger, Elken said.

“We had contacted the police many times and filmed the assault,” she said.

“The police came, they took him away for two days and then released him (as he carried out his last horrific attack).”

Estebesov has been detained pending further investigation after a criminal case for causing grievous bodily harm was opened.

If convicted, he faces 12 years in prison.
