Raphael Guerreiro ‘becomes Thomas Tuchel’s first Bayern Munich signing’ after agreeing to leave rivals Borussia Dortmund on a free transfer
Raphael Guerreiro will be Thomas Tuchel’s first signing as Bayern Munich manager as the Bundesliga winners plan a massive summer rebuild under the head coach.
The Portuguese left back will undergo a medical at Bayern next week Fabrizio Romanoprior to completing a free transfer to the club.
Guerreiro announced last month that he would be leaving Borussia Dortmund at the end of his contract, with the 29-year-old now on the verge of a move to their rivals.
“After seven wonderful years, it is time to say goodbye to all of you with great sadness,” said Guerreiro.
“The memories I’ve made here have taught me a lot about myself on the pitch, but also helped me a lot to know what I really like in football.

The Portugal international missed out on the title to Bayern on the final day of the season
“I have always been myself while learning and improving here and I will never forget the love I received from the fans and my teammates during these seven years. I had the chance to play with some great players.’
Guerreiro made 224 appearances for Dortmund and scored 40 goals for the club, with the Portugal international playing as a left back, left wing and central midfield for the club.
Dortmund suffered a broken heart on the last day of the season, missing out on the title to Bayern after a costly draw against Mainz.
He is about to be reunited with former Dortmund boss Tuchel and will provide the Bayern head coach with a versatile option as he oversees a summer rebuild.
Guerreiro’s arrival follows Bayern’s decision not to permanently move Joao Cancelo after his loan spell from Man City.
Tuchel has reportedly put Sadio Mane and Leroy Sane on a seven-man transfer list as he looks to overhaul his squad this summer.
Declan Rice and Harry Kane are both targeted by the German champions as potential new signings this summer.
Tuchel has been a longtime admirer of Rice and believes the 24-year-old has all the qualities to be a success in the Bundesliga.

Bayern have been linked with a move from Tottenham striker Harry Kane during a summer rebuild
But Mail Sport has learned that Rice prefers to continue playing in England’s top flight next season, with Arsenal poised to make an opening bid of £90m.
Bayern reportedly still hope Kane can be persuaded to come to the Allianz Arena.
With his contract set to expire in the summer of 2024, this summer could be Spurs’ last chance to get Kane reimbursed.
Real Madrid and Manchester United have also been heavily linked with a move to England and Tottenham Hotspur’s record goalscorer.
