Rangers and Devils stars fight just TWO seconds into game at MSG as mass brawl breaks out straight after the puck drop… with eight players ejected after 5v5 scrap at MSG

Just two seconds into their game at Madison Square Garden, a massive brawl broke out between players from the New York Rangers and the New Jersey Devils on Wednesday night.

Immediately after the puck drop in New York, boisterous Rangers rookie Matt Rempe and Devils defenseman Kurtis MacDermid dropped their gloves and began exchanging fists.

Six other players were subsequently involved in the five-on-five scrap, including Rangers trio Barclay Goodrow, K’Andre Miller and Jacob Trouba and New Jersey’s Kevin Bahl, John Marino and Chris Tierney.

All eight were immediately ejected from the match due to misconduct penalties, marking a wild start to proceedings at MSG.

Rempe has become infamous for his fights with opponents just a few months into his NHL career with the Rangers.

More to follow.
