Los Angeles Rams defensive lineman Aaron Donald plans to play football in 2023, the three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year clarified on social media.
There was confusion on that point after Donald briefly changed his social media profile to read, “Former NFL D Linemen (sic) for the Rams.”

‘I think [Donald] He’s going to play next year, I have very good reason to believe that,’ said Long, who played two seasons with Donald in St. Louis before the Rams moved to Los Angeles and he signed with the New England Patriots. “I know there was the Twitter bio, but yeah, he’s going to play.”
Donald responded on Twitter to a clip of Long’s quote.
“Tell ’em C Lo yeah I’m playing I never said I said no,” Donald tweeted.

But the team stumbled in its title defense in 2022, going 5-12 as head coach Sean McVay publicly questioned whether he would continue in Los Angeles.
McVay has since committed to the team for next season, while quarterback Matthew Stafford and wide receiver Cooper Kupp are expected to return from injury.
Now, Donald appears to be returning for a 10th season in the NFL.
And for what it’s worth, Donald has changed his Twitter bio to explain that he’s an ‘Ex Pitt Panther,’ a reference to his alma mater, and a current ‘NFL D Lineman for the Rams.’
