Raiders’ Amik Robertson suffers gruesome head injury after taking knee to the helmet in brutal collision with Jets RB Breece Hall that left CB motionless and in ‘fencing position’

Amik Robertson was left in the ‘fencing position’ after suffering a nasty head injury during the Raiders’ game against the Jets on Sunday evening.

The cornerback put a knee on the helmet as Jets running back Breece Hall tried to hinder him on the sideline.

Robertson required immediate medical treatment as he lay motionless on the ground with his arms stretched in the air. The ‘fencing’ position is typically a sign that someone has suffered a concussion.

It didn’t take long for Roberston to be helped off the field — his arms around the shoulders of the medical staff — before the Raiders ruled him out of the game with a concussion.

The injury occurred early in the second quarter of Sunday night’s game in Las Vegas as Hall was looking for a first down for the visitors.

Medical staff almost immediately began treating Robertson as he lay flat on his back

The running back sprinted toward the Jets’ left sideline as Robertson came over to make the tackle.

While still traveling at full speed, Hall jumped into the air in an attempt to avoid Robertson. Instead, his knee snapped the cornerback’s neck backward, immediately sending Robertson to the ground.

The cornerback’s teammates waved frantically at the Raiders bench, indicating the 25-year-old needed treatment.

Jets medics began treating Roberston within seconds as he lay flat on his back, apparently unconscious.

Fortunately, he was soon awake and well enough to walk through the tunnel, albeit with the help of Raiders personnel.

The 25-year-old, a native of Louisiana, played college football at Louisiana Tech before being drafted by the Raiders in the fourth round of the 2020 NFL draft.

Robertson required immediate medical treatment and was eventually helped from the field
