Radio star reveals her one very surprising regret about getting gastric band surgery

Perth Nova FM star Natalie Locke underwent an incredible weight loss journey this year, losing 'just north of 41kg', but she has one surprising regret.

The radio presenter achieved the massive transformation by undergoing gastric band surgery in December last year, and on Sunday she wrote a lengthy article about her experiences.

After having the band for a year and achieving her weight loss goals, Nat Perth Now she said her only regret was “not having the surgery sooner.”

“I put it off for several years, mainly because I wasn't happy with the first surgeon I consulted, and now I feel like I wasted those intervening years,” she said.

'I also regret that I got excited in the first few months and bought a lot of new clothes, because those clothes are now too big for me.'

Nat kept her listeners updated on her weight loss journey in October when she talked about it with her team on Nova 93.7's Nathan, Nat & Shaun.

Co-host Shaun McManus said: “It was December last year, wasn't it?” when Nat said she was “feeling really good” after ten months.

β€œIt was, and weight-wise, I lost just over 41 pounds,” she replied.

She continued: 'People say, β€œOh, do you have more energy?” It's like, no, I still have to get up at 4am. So that's a real energy vampire.

'But when we're on holiday I feel like a million bucks, it's really good. (The number of) people who have reached out to me on social media is astonishing.

'People said to me, “Oh, I've had that done before, but I've never really talked about it.”

'Yes, because there is a real stigma about it. And I don't think it should be that way. It must remain a health decision.'
