Radio star Amanda Keller breaks down as she is asked a very simple question during TV interview

Amanda Keller burst into tears when asked an emotional question on an episode of the ABC television series The Assembly.

The 62-year-old WSFM radio host was recently asked by an autistic journalism student if she “loves her husband” during an episode of the new talk show hosted by Leigh Sales.

She was moved to tears as she talked about her husband Harley Oliver’s long-term battle with Parkinson’s disease and how it affected them both.

“That’s a beautiful question and I think I’m going to cry. My husband is going through a bit of a struggle with Parkinson’s right now,” Amanda began.

Amanda then shared how Harley’s ongoing battle with the neurodegenerative disease had impacted their lives – and how it had strengthened their love for each other.

‘We’ve been married for 34 years and life is changing around us. He’s so good at it [but] Actually, in a way, I’m not.

‘We learn to find ourselves in the midst of changing circumstances. Part of me feels privileged to be with someone long enough to experience these changes with them.

‘So yes, I love him very much, even though we don’t get along that well.’

Amanda announced in October that her husband Harley has been suffering from Parkinson’s disease for years.

She shared the news during an episode of her podcast Double A Chattery.

The morning radio host, who has been married to Oliver since 1989, explained that her husband was diagnosed with the condition about six years ago, but the couple only now decided to discuss the condition publicly.

Parkinson’s disease is an incurable brain disorder characterized by uncontrollable movements, including tremors, stiffness, and problems with balance and coordination.

Unfortunately, the symptoms of Parkinson’s disease worsen over time.

In January, Amanda broke down in tears during her Jonesy and Amanda WSFM breakfast show about her husband’s illness.

The pair were discussing “great Australian songs that make you feel good” for their Australia Day-themed Fight for Your Flashback segment, when Amanda burst into tears. She said some of the songs reminded her of Harley.

Amanda and her husband Harley have a family with sons Liam, 24, and Jack.

The TV and radio star has previously admitted that she feels “raw” when she thinks back to her previous struggles to conceive. She underwent IVF treatment in the late 1990s to conceive, but it didn’t work straight away.
