The Kyle And Jackie O Show’s debut in Melbourne got off to a shaky start.
The share of the KIIS FM breakfast show fell by 0.5 points from 6.4 to 5.9 per cent in the latest radio ratings survey in Victoria.
However, the results don’t paint a full picture as The Kyle And Jackie O Show launched in Melbourne on April 29, meaning listenership is taken into account for three weeks of the eleven-week survey period.
KIIS FM bosses remain optimistic about the future of Kyle and Jackie O’s Victorian expansion.
“It’s too early to get a good idea of the impact of The Kyle & Jackie O Show in Melbourne as they were only on air for three of the ten weeks surveyed,” said Duncan Campbell, head of KIIS- parent company ARN. The Daily Telegraph.

Rival breakfast show Nova’s Jase and Lauren, who were axed at the end of 2023 to make way for Kyle and Jackie O, meanwhile grew their market share by 0.4 points to 8.7.
Fox’s Fifi, Fev and Nick scored their 12th consecutive win as Melbourne’s most listened to breakfast show.
In the latest Sydney FM ratings survey, The Kyle And Jackie O Show once again came out on top, having previously won the Sydney Breakfast FM radio wars for 40 surveys in a row.
The show experienced a slight decline in listenership this time, dropping 1.4 points to a market share of 14.7 percent.
On April 29, Kyle and Jackie O took their breakfast radio to Melbourne in a massive multi-million dollar expansion deal.
The move left Jason ‘Jase’ Hawkins and Lauren Phillips’ breakfast show in disarray.
An unapologetic Sandilands recently said he was indifferent to his competitors being banned because it ultimately came down to who attracted the most listeners.
‘No, I don’t care. That’s why we went to Melbourne, we were like, “We’ve given this Jase and Lauren on KIIS FM a good run, it can’t get past fourth in the radio ratings, so we’ll take it,” he said. news.com.au.
He added that The Kyle and Jackie O Show had been moved to Melbourne because there was a “market in trouble” and it was thought their program could help win back listeners.
However, Kyle’s co-host Jackie ‘O’ Henderson took a different approach, adding that while she didn’t like competitors being cut, this was unfortunately the reality of the business.
“No one ever wants to take someone out of their job. I wouldn’t want that to happen to me. It’s a double-edged sword, it really is,” she said.
