Radio star Lauren Phillips breaks down in tears as she makes emotional admission on air: ‘I feel terrible’
Radio star Lauren Phillips broke down in tears as she reconnected with her former best friend Tahlia for the first time in six years on Wednesday.
Jase Hawkins, co-host of Lauren’s Nova FM, surprised her by calling Tahlia live on air.
“It actually doesn’t feel that long since I’ve seen you, but you have a baby, you have an incredible life that it feels weird not to be a part of,” an emotional Lauren said.
“I’ve seen it on social media, I feel like I know, but I just feel terrible that I haven’t seen you,” she admitted.
Tahlia went on to say that life got in the way of their friendship and that they were both “busy.”
“We had an extraordinary friendship and we never had an argument, but life just got busy,” Lauren added.

Tahlia continued, “There’s no one to blame, and there’s no fault, and it’s all perfect, we’re brought together in this moment, and it’s beautiful.”
Lauren then revealed her plans to travel interstate to visit Tahlia in the near future.
Jase and Lauren are currently on a high as they continue to top the breakfast show ratings in Melbourne.
The pair recently revealed how they really felt about quitting their old jobs as they thanked their listeners for their support.
This month, the radio duo celebrated Jase and Lauren’s one-year anniversary over breakfast on the Nova network after being dumped by KIIS FM in 2023.
‘We would like to thank everyone for listening to our show. Today marks one year since we were told no one wanted to listen to us on the radio,” Lauren said.
“We were abandoned a year ago,” Jase added.
The radio stars were left stunned when their Melbourne breakfast show was axed last year to make way for Kyle Sandilands and Jackie ‘O’ Henderson’s show to be broadcast in Victoria.

“We love waking up with you in the morning,” Lauren continued.
“It’s been a rollercoaster of a year for us. We love being here. This has been the best professional year of my life.
“Thank you everyone for making this move and staying with us.”
“If you could have told us a year ago that we would be here doing this now, our little minds would have exploded. We wouldn’t have believed it,” she added.
Kyle and Jackie O brought their breakfast radio show to Melbourne in April in a massive multi-million dollar expansion deal, leading to the axing of Jase and Lauren’s KIIS FM breakfast show.
At the time, an unapologetic Kyle said he was indifferent to his competitors being fired because it ultimately came down to who attracted the most listeners.
‘No, I don’t care. That’s why we went to Melbourne, we were like, “We’ve given this Jase and Lauren on KIIS FM a good run, it can’t get past fourth in the radio ratings, so we’ll take it,” he said. news.com.au.
Jase and Lauren had the last laugh, though, with their new show on Nova 100 surpassing the Kyle and Jackie O Show in Melbourne in September.
It comes after Lauren and her co-host Jase (pictured) revealed what they really thought about leaving their old jobs as they thanked their fans on Friday.
The comedy chat show achieved the coveted number one spot in GFK’s fifth radio appreciation survey for 2024.
Jase and Lauren’s popular program achieved 0.3 points and increased to 9.9 percent in viewer share.
Kyle and Jackie O lagged significantly behind with a 6.1 percent share, after its Melbourne premiere on April 29, and was only the fifth most listened to breakfast show.
However, Melbourne newcomers Kyle and Jackie O still saw a slight increase in the city’s ratings, from 5.9 to 6.1 percent.
